our structure, inspired by the traditional Hawaiian land management ahupua'a. system, is a creative economy loop we are testing as an alternative way to live, create, work, serve, athrive as creatives in Hawai'i.

We're so passionate about the how + why around them, we want to show you the creative business ecosystem you're supporting.
This indigenous way of operating is informed by Hawaiian indigenous tech + principles we know can solve for how creative, digital-service based businesses + client relationships can be in reciprocity with the 'āina and people giving the work + business life.
Our creative business ecosystem is defined by six
realms from the mountain to the sea of our work:
WAO AKUA REALM
Top of the ecosystem, where a conceptual highland forest captures + converts rainfall (inspiration/ideas) into a useable water source
for the watershed
FRESHWATER STREAM REALM
Key water sources (gifts, offers, skillsets, energy, ideas) merge into growth + income streams that will nurture the biz / studio ecosystem
'AUWAI REALM
A workflow system is designed to divert + direct water flow from streams into the kalo field (biz / studio) + then back out, maintaining water quality + volume for the needs downstream
LO'I KALO REALM
Where KALOH's core operations, services, and products are planted + grow, yielding abundance that feeds a village. This is where artist, clients, community, and works produced meet
FISH PONDS REALM
Out of the lo'i kalo, rich nutrients has flowed down to be harnessed; producing a protein-rich food source. Enter the "collective" part of KALOH's name + vision: At this realm, a community of likeminded people gets nourished. Spaces for connection, gathering, uplifting + sharing ideas for collective thriving
OCEAN REALM
A vital part of our watershed, this is where the KALOH food garden will live (under construction now). As a biz / studio, we will give a % of profits + time back to the land that gives us life in Kona, HI. The garden's harvest will be shared with our immediate neighbors & community. Simultaneously, the stewarding of 'āina will serve to ground + cleanse the system + three realms of self: spirit, mind, body. The renewal of this act, and outflow of pono energy into the open sea of our system will then be absorbed & felt again as fresh rain (inspiration/ideas) at the top of the mountain

A MESSAGE FROM LEAD-ARTIST
+ KALOH FOUNDER
NINAMARIE BELL
I had no idea that leaping from my corporate job without a clear plan & building an online marketing business during the early pandemic would lead me to uncover my true life's work as a coach & artist guiding people back to their soul-selves, authentic life's work, expression, and lives through a whole new business! I launched Grounded Humans as an evolving artist's vision in motion, a vision and home base that allows me to thrive as a singer-songwriter working on recordings from my home studio, the studio I have lovingly coined the Green Dream Womb (it's painted floor to ceiling in dark, emerald green). One part coaching business, one part digital art studio, and one part soul-people collective, Grounded Humans is on its way to offering more programs and audio support soon (sound healing kits, anyone?).
In the meantime, I am honored to be guiding fellow recovering people-pleasers stuck in unfulfilling jobs & lives that don't feel right back home to soul guidance & paths of highest potential. Back home to their bodies & emotions that have so much wisdom to share, & back home to the vision & dreams that are uniquely their own for a reason, that they've feared naming but cannot let go of inside. I'm overjoyed to get to create my soul's art - music that gently stir hearts & remind us of something forgotten. Part of my career dream was reclaiming the freedom & flexibility to make my music offerings alongside coaching fellow soul-oriented humans back to alignment & purpose. In this unfolding vision & practice, I am honored by you joining me on this journey & hope - through my art & work - to become a meaningful part of yours.
